Aims and Values

At Eastern Green Junior School we are committed to the teaching of major world religions as well as non-religious world views. We teach Religious Education using accurate and fair representations of beliefs, values and practices.

Religious Education is mainly taught as a discrete subject. Where possible, links are made to the wider curriculum. We teach the Coventry and Warwickshire SACRE Religion and World Views Agreed Syllabus. 

Our aim is to build awareness of different faiths worldwide and in the local area. Our goal is for all children to show respect towards one another and feel confident when expressing and discussing their own beliefs and views. They will reflect upon and develop their personal worldview, values and ideas. 

At our school we bring the subject of Religious Education to life by visiting places of worship and having visitors in school. Additionally, we have strong links with St Andrews Church and enjoy sharing celebrations with the parish.
